The Bauhofer Allgäuer Emmentaler 1827 g. U. is an extraordinary cheese. The cheese matures longer and gets more time, to intensify its aromatic taste.



Bauhofer Allgäuer Emmentaler

The Bauhofer Allgäuer Emmentaler is a pure natural cheese with 45 % fat in dry matter, made of milk from conventional and organic farmers in the Allgäu region. We are producing our cheese according to traditional Swiss recipe. The beatiful golden yellow rind occurs during the maturing time with a temperature between 23 to 25 °C. During this time, the beautiful holes occur - so the whole flavour develops and the Bauhofer Emmentaler gets its nutty, full-flavoured taste after a period of minimum three months.
